Our Local Waters

This page will grow over time as we gather the information that is most important to share with you.  In the Truckee-Tahoe region, we are blessed by not only the glorious Truckee River and her tributaries, but by beautiful and vibrant lakes as well. On this page you can learn about the different waters of the region, a bit of their history, and most importantly – how to make the most out of your fishing experience.

The Truckee River Basin

The Truckee River basin covers over 4,700 square miles and straddles the California-Nevada border. Major cities in the Truckee River Basin are Truckee, California, and Reno and Sparks, Nevada. Although many consider the Truckee River to be the main fishery of the region, there are hundreds of streams and rivers to explore in the basin.
